Vampires, Albatroses and a Strikemaster in NZ

A friend in NZ has just sent me the link to this wonderful professionally-produced video:

Watch from the airfield threshold as several fighter jet trainers, including three Albatros L-39s, a BAC Strikemaster and two de Havilland Vampires come in to land at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, New Zealand.

It's interesting to note that all the pilots are aiming to touch down on the threshold bar, in order to maximize the stopping distance available on this very short runway, particularly the Vampires with their dodgy pneumatic brakes.

The LDA at Masterton is 1205 m For comparison, Leeming is 2290 m.

I love the Doppler effect from the Goblins at the end of the video (2:50).
