Pierre Clostermann - Pierre Clostermann - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - was another remarkable figure.

His book "Le Grand Cirque" (The Big Show) is one of the best flying reminiscences of WWII. His descriptions of converting to and flying the Hawker Tempest are stunning.
