Tiger Moth N-5490 under restoration

Guys,

This is my first post, so please bear with me if I screw it up!

I am restoring Hatfield-built 1938 Tiger Moth N-5490. I have inaugurated a website to report progress and share the history of this Tiger and the pilots who learned to fly in her which might be of interest. Gravesend, Castle Bromwich, Elmdon, Perth/Scone, Booker, Finningley, Aston Down, Croydon, etc. Find it at N-5490 - Index Page.

If anyone can provide any additional historical details/photos of this aircraft, I'd be very grateful. Contact me at [email protected].

Thanks for reading.

Now that's what I call a thorough job, well researched.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I have been a Moth Club member since the eighties. I am an old friend of Stuart Mackay who is helping the project along in several ways - not least spares from the club's Stockbox.

Tonight I added a forum to the website so everyone can get directly involved with the project - please feel free to register and join the program.

Here is the CAA site info on it

http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/HistoricalMaterial/G-ANHG.pdf

GINFO Search Results | Aircraft Register | Operations and Safety

Would appear exported to France by that.

Thank you for posting that CAA link.
I discovered a snippet on the Moth that I'm restoring. That made my day

If anyone has a top frame and LH angled corner piece for the larger windscreen please please please PM me.

Cheers

What a fantastic website.
Your research will help me determine the WWII history of the Tiger that I'm restoring.

Your c/n of 3763 is a little older but not too far removed from mine.

Well done
