Operation Floodlight 1953
My wife works for the Environment Agency and they are looking to commemorate the work of Bomber Command during the aftermath of the East Coast floods in 1953.
Bomber Command crews flew 70 sorties over six days and produced 16,500 negatives which were used in the immediate aftermath and rebuilding.
She is really keen to speak to anyone who was involved as it's a contribution which has been overlooked in the past.
Any leads very, very gratefully received.
Thank you.

Thanks TD, I'll pass it on.
She's keen to contact anyone who was involved in the Bomber Command sorties but I appreciate that it's a heck of a long time ago.

J.A.F.O, if required I should be able to point you in the direction of some of the photographs. Saw some recce pictures last year of surplus AFV's being pushed into a river to close up some of the breaches in the dykes at the time.
If you PM me with some contact details I'll see what I can do.
