Cool Cirencester Gannet

Anyone know what happened to the Gannet that used to be in someone's backgarden on the Cirencester bypass a few years ago?

From that site it is XA459, now at Lambourn, Berkshire. Being restored, possibly to airworthy standard <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I grew up in Hayes and spent my junior years going to watch the aeroplanes at London Airport. From the top of the 140 bus on the way to the airport you could see a Gannet fuselage in the yard of the Fairey factory. . .. .For what it's worth, my Mum used to warn me to avoid south Hayes at 5.18 pm, because that is when the hooter went at Fairey. A tidal wave of sprinters was followed by a wall of bicycles.. .. .The factory employed about 5000 then. It's now the headquarters of Safeway!. .. .Sic Transit Gloria Fairey.

Cool

DB6, thanks for that. Drove past it for many years, always thinking it deserved better. Nice to see it's being sorted.
