Evelyn Johnson Record setting pilot 1909-2012 has died

The New York Times recently had an obituary for Evelyn Bryan Johnson who died in Tennessee on 10 May 2012 at the age of 102. She was a record setting pilot with 57, 635 hours and in 2002 at the age of 92 was the oldest flying instructor in the world. She was nicknamed "Mama Bird". Her last flight was in 2005 and she first flew solo in November 1944. Over 57,000 flying hours in 61 years is an amazing feat of endurance.
