Post Hunter..........

On business in Woking yesterday, came across a Hunter on a pylon in the town centre. Any history on this?

This is allegedly XL623, although another reference has this stored at Newton airfield, near Nottingham!

From the "Thunder-and-lightnings" site:

"Originally painted in a garish multi-coloured scheme, it's now in a more sedate overall silver finish, with no markings at all. It's hard to tell what condition it's in because of this; the engine's been removed anyway and there are some dents to the wingtips etc. but otherwise it appears to be okay, from below at least! It is owned by the local council and so happily is staying, whereas the Buccaneer that used to be inside the complex has been taken away as scrap. It is even due for a repaint."
