Inspired by the Tempest/typhoon thread. . .. .What extinct types would we most like to see in the air, either as restorations or accurate replicas? . .. .By extinct I mean in terms of flying examples.. .. .My nominations.. .. .B36 (Dream on). .Vulcan (Perfectly possible, money permitting). .Hornet (Replica should be possible). .HP42 (Ditto)

Some absolute beauties there....prsonally, I'd love to see (and hear!) a Westland Wyvern restored to flying condition.. .. .A TSR2 would be nice as well, if only to invite comparisons with the Tornado!

A Vulcan is actually being brought back to flying condition at Bruntingthorpe in a multi-million £ venture. . .. .I'd love to see an HP42 recreated, they look so amazing in the 30s newsreels, definitely a civilized way to travel.. .. .Also on the wish list, some German jobbies. How about a Ju 87, Ju 88 and Me 110.. .. .Also a Typhoon would be great. Someone somewhere must have a Sabre in their garden shed.. .. .RD

VFR. . Glad to hear of the Walrus. I am always drawn to the underdog/ the unconventional. The Walrus was surely an ugly duckling but did an awful lot of good work in the SAR role. Hope it gets to the PFA Rally sometime.. .. .Mike W
