RAF/RFC Tadcaster

The airfield was actually a bit nearer Bramham Moor, just to the East of the A1. Does anyone have any photos of this airfield (in action, rather than recently)?

I have discovered that a relative was on 68 Training Squadron in 1917. Would also welcome knowing what types were operated there at that time, and any anecdotes.

Thanks,

Skua

hope this helps.

Have you tried the Yorkshire Aviation Museum at Elvington. They may have information. Graham Simons of GMS Enterprises published a booklet history No.71 price £4;95.

KK many thanks
T21 - no I haven't - since this info re my rellies' service came to hand. But I was there 3 months ago, and was very disappointed in what they showed of pre-WW2 aviation in Yorkshire. I think the YAM could do with a strategic re-think.
