Have you tried a search on Airliners.net. Although it's mostly airliners (natch) a bit of delving might produce something

You can search by photographers' name and I'd recommend RA Schofield.

Just found this.

Peeping into a jet engine. Mary Evans - Prints Online,

I think there had been similar events at Platt Fields, So Manchester beforehand.

I found that print, just looking for... More. No major reason other than personal interest of a relative who attended the event and mentioned they'd been looking for photos.

Whoops typo should be spelt Scholfield. If you do a search on Manchester Barton you will come across his b&w pics.
