Unknown RAF Pilot
I'm trying to discover the fate of Sgt P N Nicholls, who was piloting Wellington N2912 on the night of 24 April 1941 when it was attacked by a German night fighter while approaching RAF Bassingbourn.
The second pilot, my uncle Sgt F N Alstrom, and air gunner Sgt R Wilson, were killed but Nicholls managed to land the Wellington and survived even though he struck another aircraft, causing a fire which consumed both.
I don't have Nicholls' service number and I've checked the Operations Record Book of 11 OTU, but it gives no further details.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions

P N Nicholls is not listed as having been killed, so it looked like he survived the war.
N2912 is the subject of a rather fine print.

No, sadly no further details on names. I have a picture of No 29 Course, presumably of 11 OTU, showing both my uncle and Sgt Nicholls, sitting side by side. I don't seem to have the right to upload the picture though
