MATS Airlines - Illinois 1967-1973

Manufacturers Air Transport Service Inc was the owner and operator of
MATS Commuter Airlines, MATS Cargo Airlines and MATS Aircraft Service Centre (1967-1973)
Head office since Oct 17, 1967 was Peoria, Illinois.
In a short notice in Flight International, March 1973 the fleet is described as:
Two DC-3,
four Heron 2,
three Saunders ST-27,
five Beech D-18S,
one Cessna 310K,
one Cessna U206.
Guess the three Saunders ST-27 were only an option - can't find anything to verify this.
Found also only three Herons, N507FW, 508FW and 509FW mentioned in Cowells Heron book.
So far I have only one photo of a MATS aircraft - it is N508FW.

Would like to hear more about the history of this small third-level airline and am interested to find more photos of their aircraft.
Any help available?

Martin
