AFVG and Tornado

The resemblance between drawings of the proposed AFVG and the Tornado is extraordinary, coincidence or was the Tornado heavily based on AFVG?

The "Tactical Combat Support Trainer" was enhanced to fulfil the gap left by the cancellation of the AFVG and the subsequent cancellation of the F111 order. The result (The Jaguar) was not suitable for it's planned replacement of the Gnat/Hunter. A hasty design of an aircraft to fill the gap was required and another Anglo French project was cooked up. But now the two countries really weren't talking to each other and the French insisted the trainer had to have twin engines like their basic trainer, the Magister. (Ironic considering nearly all their fighters were single engined). Which is wht HS designed the Hawk (using a non afterburning Adour designed for the Jaguar) and the French built the Alpha Jet.
