Got the day off. Cricket at the WACA begins at 1300 my time.

If it is the Northrop, I'll make it open house, but if no takers I'll find one to post during the tea-breaks.

Cheers.

A Northrop A-17 on steroids. You're mean mate
The photo is correct, but it's it's a Northrop A-17A

the A17 was the fixed U/C version with spats, but you can have it to prove I'm not mean and if you want further proof, check out SC

Edit: Bugger, he's gone to watch Cricket (Maybe the Aussies will get trounced this time )

Noyade has declared Open House, Enjoy the match

Evening mate,

Well, the Uassies seem to be in a good position now; can they get the next six wickets tomorrow in the first session

Dunno about this challenge though, I'm going to be pretty busy this weekend and just having a quick look now and hoping to glean a little info to work on later if possible.

The closest to that configuration that springs to mind is the Republic XP-72, but I know that it's not it 'cos the intake chin is not the right shape and the wintips are wrong, (unless the second prototype with Contra-props had a different "Radiator"? intake and clipped wings, but that's just grasping at straws ) !!

Is the XP-72 the type, configuration and era I should be looking at and the continent would be a help??

Will try and have another look later, hope the Curry was good

Not the XP-72, but certainly a powerful beast from the same continent and era.
Working tomorrow (Sunday morning) so it's an early night mate. Catch ya later.

Thanks for that Graeme, sleep well

After a lunch-break look, I think it may be the Boeing XF8B-1 Multi-purpose Fighter ??

Evening Graeme,

Good result at the WACA

Engine test-bed?
Not in the sense that it's an engine hung onto an existing airframe; it's on the wing where its designed to be, but it and the airframe were built to test various things, a one-off

Edit: Ah ha a swoop!! Yes mate 'tiz the Bristol T-188 (the other wing if we want to really anal )

Noyade has control

True, but it would have been nice to see a bit of Indian Vindaloo, instead we just got weak yoghurt

Bristol T-188
Thanks Trevor. Thinking Russian but then the black rectangles around the nacelle triggered a thought.

Try this...

I hope you got that at home for supper instead mate !!

I must admit I had thoughts of being a "Cropper Bugger" and cutting them out, wish I had now!!

Is yours in the fuselage or a nacelle?
