American yes, civil yes, twin-booms no!

Not their first pusher, maybe the second and their next was to be a whole lot bigger and more!!

Edit: Yup, that's the wing root!

Fascinating challenge mate!

Going round in circles here and I mustn't be entering the search criteria correctly in Aerofiles. My immediate thought was a Convair product but it has twin booms. The search goes on...

Early start tomorrow mate?

A very good thought that!

The search goes on...
I'd recommend that too mate and stick on the same page, 'tiz not a very good challenge though as all the keywords are there !

Yup, another early start and a busy day, but the night's still young as yet and you're nearly there, but watch out, watch out, there's a Ken about

Single engine?

their next was to be a whole lot bigger and more!!
Am I going wrong here? I'm thinking B-36, XB-35, XB-42 sort of big? (as in pusher-props).

Yes mate, a single Continental C-65

Am I going wrong here? I'm thinking B-36
The only thing you're doing wrong is to go straight past my challenge, look UP , but not too far!

Edit: I see it's too late now and you can't say I didn't warn you

Not sure about the clever bit, but probably not the obvious

A slightly expanded view:

Morning Graeme...not an Ekranoplan but a surprisingly common aircraft....in fact this would have made the Noyade500 You would be hard pushed to visit a major airport without seeing one of these aircraft

You're drawing reminds me of the Fireflash in Thunderbirds

But sadly nothing as exotic...in fact the aircraft is rather ordinary. Stand-by for another explanded pic.

Sorry Ken, just can't grasp what I'm looking at. Now it looks like two jet engines on TOP of the forward fuselage? Very clever challenge indeed.

You would be hard pushed to visit a major airport without seeing one of these aircraft
