Not their first pusher, maybe the second and their next was to be a whole lot bigger and more!!
Edit: Yup, that's the wing root!

Fascinating challenge mate!
Going round in circles here and I mustn't be entering the search criteria correctly in Aerofiles. My immediate thought was a Convair product but it has twin booms. The search goes on...
Early start tomorrow mate?

Yup, another early start and a busy day, but the night's still young as yet and you're nearly there, but watch out, watch out, there's a Ken about

Yes mate, a single Continental C-65
The only thing you're doing wrong is to go straight past my challenge, look UP , but not too far!
Edit: I see it's too late now and you can't say I didn't warn you
Am I going wrong here? I'm thinking B-36

Evening Ken,
No need to guess mate! It is the Convair 111 Aircar
skytrain10 has control (and very timely too as a neighbour has just called with New Year Greetings, so I'll have to go now). So Good Night gents and have a good day Graeme, hard luck mate, you were soooo close

Morning Graeme...not an Ekranoplan but a surprisingly common aircraft....in fact this would have made the Noyade500 You would be hard pushed to visit a major airport without seeing one of these aircraft

You're drawing reminds me of the Fireflash in Thunderbirds
But sadly nothing as exotic...in fact the aircraft is rather ordinary. Stand-by for another explanded pic.
