Late bid from Mel closes it down. It is a single seat Miles M2 Hawk Major.

Thanks Kitbag. However, the accolade should go to TheiC. Spotted that it was a Miles product. Once he had gathered all the clues it was just a case of consulting Don L Brown's excellent book "Miles Aircraft since 1925".

Over to you TheiC.

That's very kind. The arrangement identified the engine, which led to the a range of possibilities, and then it was just whittling it down.

I'm afraid I don't have anything to hand which passes the GI test, so let's make it Open House.

One of two jet engines hugging the fuselage?
It's on your list but could it be the Su-25?

You are of course correct Graeme. The "Frogfoot". It would appear these aircraft could survive some really harsh battle damage.

You have control.

Not so much hugging the fuselage. More like trying to escape its clutches...

TVM, been a while since I got anything right, so 2 in one day feels good. This should ensure the baton is passed on rapidly;

Are you continuing the French theme with the Dassault Mirage IV?
