The exhausts seem to point towards the prop;so ,is it a `pusher` installation on one of those Saro flying boats,or similar...?

It is indeed a pusher installation, but not a SARO type

Not the Singapore, this was a little later than the glory days of the pre war flying boat and with a very different role.

I think this is a single, radial engined naval torpedo bomber from the 1930's.
Assuming it's British.
How about the Blackburn Ripon?

Your getting there Kitbag, it is an aircraft by Blackburn but not the Ripon.
