Looks like an Austrian Airlines Viscount? But the English language 'Unauthorised Persons not permitted etc.' sign would argue against Austria.
Couldn't be an early Manchester Ringway could it?

Both Taa and Ansett paint schemes had solid stripes along the window line completely filling the spaces between the windows, so I do not think we are in Australia.
Pity the photo's resolution is not good enough to read the name on the aircraft's nose, or recognise the pilot's cap badge. It looks like a BP logo on the refueling equipment though.

Max Tow sleuths to the truth!
NAC Viscount 807 sits resplendent at Whenuapai airport on a warm May 1964 day, the year before Mangere became operational. In response to the query on the B&W photo; yes, there was at least one Comet 4 visit to Auckland at that time.
Max Tow has control.

Thanks Siftydog. It seems that the Comet was a twice weekly service via SYD and at the time, the only jet able to get into Auckland before the new airport with its longer runway.

Ha! Well then it is probably west of the Mississippi - 15/30 seems to be more common as you go north & West in the USA
As56, 15/30 not very common...
