Question Visitors to Manston 11/7

Mrs M saw two a/c over Whitstable area today, one she says was a Spitfire, the other, from her description, was a P38 Lightning. They were in close formation heading for Manston.

Leeds castle (Kent not Yorkshire) are holding some sort of event today and have been promised a Spitfire & Hurricane from BBMF and a P51. Nobody mentioned a P38.

Was this a bonus? Or are the BBC getting totally confused again?
