Record - Breaking Swift WK198

Hi, Forumites.
Does anyone know what colour scheme was applied to this aircraft when it did it's high-speed runs in Libya in 1953. Pilot was Mike Lithgow.
Tia

When I was training at Tern Hill in 1960 on Provost T1s I did a land away three point navex just to qualify for a PPL. On the land away airfield there were several Swifts waiting to be broken up. My log book says I went to Church Fenton; can anybody confirm that is where they ended up?

Church Fenton would not have been the only place that had Swifts for disposal. St. Athan in the mid-late 1950 was awash with various aircraft awaiting the scrap metal merchants.

There was also one hangar there full of Swift 1's for the Boy Entrants to practice on.
Those were much of the cancelled order, which had just one flight of about 20 minutes from the factory to St.Athan before having an M number painted on..
