I believe the pilot survived the accident but succumbed to his injuries later - very sad indeed.
I would certainly have thought it will be rebuilt; the aircraft turned over in long grass after veering off the runway while landing. Photos showed it to be largely intact; the prop, spinner, canopy and fin obviously took the brunt of the impact. It was righted and recovered to a hangar on its undercarriage.

I think it is accurate to say that ALL damaged Spitfires will be repaired in this day and age. The aeroplane is too valuable an asset to become extinct. There is a wealth of engineering expertise out there, and, as Treadi says, this is relatively undamaged. Everything is therefore repairable if one throws enough money at it.
