Question What skeleton?

Following the success in correctly identifying the wing in my previous thread What wing? I have come up with a new challenge: A friend of mine - FAA certified mechanic - loves old airplanes and has his project stored in his hangar for now. As you can see it requires a bit of work, but he estimates to have it in an airworthy state by next summer. Only question is ... what is it?
