"War-bird"over Worthing
There are several letters in my local newspaper about "a camouflaged small aircraft with D-Day stripes" doing a series of "enthralling" flypasts over the countryside north of Worthing a couple of weeks ago.
Most correspondents agree that it wasn't a Spitfire or Hurricane (wrong noise), someone has suggested it was a Miles Messenger, someone else a Beaver (????)
The editor is asking if anyone knows for certain...............any clues ???

Jim Pearce has a D-Day marked Messenger at his strip at Findon - fits the bill perfectly.

An 'enthralling 'flypast from a Miles Messenger? Well,. B.17 'Sally B' low over my bungalow yesterday. Enthralling.[I quite like the Miles Messenger, actually].
