Regards TX196 and PH843 I am almost certain they were C 19's.
On the Air Britain site , there is a very nice photo of PH843
Both belonged to the station flight at Amman and spent most of their time flying between Amman and Aqaba ,usually Mondays and Fridays . with mail and Pax.
One of the pilots was an NCO. The other bit of info, was that one of them ran out of runway at Amman and rolled into the wadi and then brought back by road .

Just checked my fathers log book and during 63 & 64 he flew in C21 VV313 & C19s TX176 & TX193, he never really spoke to me about the flights he flew on, so all I have is his log book. These I assume was as a passenger, as he only started putting in what capacity he flew in aircraft from 1965.

I posted elsewhere of his Vulcan flights as Crew Chief and he also has flights logged in Chipmunk (WP808), Hastings (TG505), Argosy (XP411), Varsity (WL622 & WT604) & Brittania (XL489 & XL639). Allthough these are obviously off topic.

And here is a photo I took 16 years ago, at the former Woodford air show, of that beautifully restored Avro XIX, G-AHKX. Don't know who the gentleman in the photo is though.
