Free Aviation Books

I have a large number of aviation books, paperback & hardback, for which I am looking for good homes. In various categories they cover WWI, WWI, Korea, Vietnam, The Falklands and various other minor conflicts.

Whilst I would rather those who want some to collect, I will post if they donate the equivalent amount to a suitable charity such as SSAFA, Hope for Heroes etc.

Rather than list them all here I will leave those interested in various periods to contact me.

As a starter, I have a copy of "Pinpoint the Bomber" by Francis Chichester, published by George Allen & Unwin , in 1942. A hardback in blue cloth ( 1st ed.), the paper cover is in very poor condition and the cover itself is discoloured and distorted. However, it is totally intact with all pages and maps still bound.

The subject is aerial navigation in the form of games, with the reader/player having to navigate a bomber from Kent to the Rhineland and back based on the text, photos and DR.

Edited to add that I live in Uxbridge, west London.

Hi there ORAC. I'm the one that sent you the private message. Unfortunately I would not be able to pick up any of the books, although there are several that I am interested in. I realise that posting them across the country is a hassle, and if you'd rather not bother then I understand completely. However I have had a quick look at Royal Mail's parcel delivery options (http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/j...mediaId=400031) and it seems postage would be in the region of £7-£10, assuming the books were all placed in a box together.

If you were willing to post the books, I will happily send you a cheque to cover the cost of postage - this will allow you to make the charitable donation of your own accord (or to put it into pints if you wish).

I have listed the books that I would like;

Suicide Squads - Axis and Allied Special Attack Weapons of WWII: Their Development and Missions.

Overlord - D-Day and Normandy 1944

Bomber Barons

The Last Battle

The Interrogator - The Story of Hanns Schaff

I Flew for the Fuhrer

Right of the Line - The Royal Air Force in the European War 1939-1945

Thunder & Lightning - The RAF in the Gulf

RAF Fighter Command 1936-1968

Green Balls - The Adventures of a Night Bomber
Once again I understand if you'd rather not post the books. In the case that you accept, we'll exchange addresses via private message.

Thank you very much.
