Question Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude advert?

Hello all,

this advert recently showed up in Mrs f's flat. No, I don't want to discuss the product, I just want to find out what type of aircraft that is! With this ring-shaped air intake, initally I was thinking about an Astazou-powered Turbo-Porter, but I'm not sure anymore.

So, over to this knowledgeable audience!

I reckon it's one of the Sea Furies modified in the US with a Wright R3350 engine and a four blade prop.

Hi,

If you look at the advert on YouTube there are many more shots of the aeroplane. To me it looks like the R2800 powered Yak 11 known as 'Czech Mate'. Although the only pictures I can find of the latest itteration of 'Czech Mate' it has loads of blue paint and sponsors decals on it!

Regards

John

I agree, too!
Thanks, folks! Now I can sleep again.
(Although I don't like what those air racers do to once-beautiful old warbirds. But that's another story.)
