RR are currently rebuilding it to fly at Filton following a fatal accident at Woodford in 1992.

There is an existing thread on GT, the most beautiful Spitfire ever when flown at Hucknall in the '60's by Alex Henshaw (I think), Blue and silver! I'm damned if I can find the thread, though.

Found it - Jan of this year and estimated to be at least a year from flying - thread lead was 'David Eyre' - sorry, I haven;t yet worked out how to create a link between threads! Oh yes - pilot was Jeffrey Quill!

Many thanks for the information, sad but enlightening. Having received a photograph of G-ALGT in its blue livery it would be great to see it restored in its Rolls Royce colours.

I have a 1/48 kit of a Spitfire XIVc and when I eventually get around to building it, I will paint as per the Rolls Royce colours - also have a XIVe which will be completed as Spencer Flack's G-FIRE. Thank heavens for print-it yerself decal paper.
