Aldis Gunsight...

...As fitted to WW1 aircraft and used up to the 1930's.

Does anyone have any idea how the things were employed and were they any good?

There's quite a lot to be found by googling, but not much written by the folks who actually used them.

My interest has been piqued by a discussion on a flight sim forum, so it's not exactly life or death!

Thanks in advance.
