Sgt A Newby 101 Sqd (WWII)

Now here is a long shot.....
I have some engine and propeller(airscrew) notes I brought in an old book shop a few years ago.
One for a RR Merlin.
Pilot's Notes for a Bristol Pegasus XVIII
Curtiss Electrically Operated Airscrew
And three for the Rotol Airscrew.
All dated around 1941 and all have Sgt A Newby's name in them. Only one has the reference to 101 Sqd.
Does anyone by chance know who this guy was or how I can find out?
Regards
TP
