Interesting - thanks for posting MAN777.
I have a copy of the August 1949 issue of Air Clues (Vol 3 No 12) which features an extremely interesting and detailed account of "Plainfare"
Primarily it's a 'lessons learned' article - Planning, ATC, Logistics, Crewing, Servicing, and Morale. - 13 pages.
PM if you'd like a copy

My father flew the airlift. He started with the C-47 and ended up flying the C-54 at the end of the airlift. Funny thing is that he talked much more about flying in the Berlin Airlift than he dropping bombs on Berlin.
Once he said that he went from dropping bombs on Germans to dropping candy. He enjoyed dropping candy much better, he figured that was real progress.
