Air Force '81 - New Sarum, Zimbabwe (Part II)

Here are the flying pictures of the airshow held on the 25/10/1981. Sadly in those days, I didn't possess a telephoto lens.

Airforce '81

I was there as an eight year old. I remember that Spitfire vividly and the Alouette spinning round and round (I think). This event probably sowed the seeds for what I currently do. I had a copy of the black covered programme but it has not been seen in my 'archives' for many years now.

Many thanks for making the pics available.

Pardon the thread drift, but do you have a link to the Air Zim B707 low pass at Charles Prince during an airshow?

Thanks Max, that's the one.

During my time in Zim I spoke to several pilots who all assured me that it really happened, no photo retouching.

A bit too brave for me!!!

Witnessed that 707 pass first hand, and it was spectacular.
Even better (for me) was the fast and clean pass followed by a rapid ascent. I also seem to remember one of UM's 767's leaving HRE that a.m. en route to JNB which made an approach to CP before climbing out to continue its journey.

AAhhh, the good 'ol days
