JAT DC-9 shot down by CSSR Airforce?

Hi ya,

just heard a radio feature here in Germany, which spread speculations about the crash of a JAT DC-9 at the 26.01.1972 near Srbská Kamenice. 27 of 28 occupants were killed. Only surivor was the FA Vesna Vulović, which fell reportly 10.000 Meters.

This is a lie, say the german TV ARD. According to them, the a/c lost height due to a flight technicial problem and tried to reach a nearby soviet airfield. Doing this, they penetrate a military no fly zone and were eventualy shot down by CSSR interceptors. This happened in ~ 2000 - 3000 feet, otherwise Ms. Vulovic wwas not able to survive the fall. Other evidence is the small diameter of the field of remains.

To cover this up, the yugoslavian & CSSR secret services invent the story of a bomb, planted by a right wing croatian group.

I haven´t seen a trustworthy evidence for the theory, otherwise I haven´t heard any evidence for the bombing expect the report about a call at a swedish newspaper.

Any opinons about this?

Anybody ever seen a Accident report or anything, trustworthy official regarding this accident?
