Sabre jet crash

My uncle (K.G.MacLeod) while serving with the RAF (stationed at RAF Benson) was killed while piloting a Sabre jet that collided with a Royal Navy Seahawk new Yeovil in August of 1955. Any info or appropriate places to look for further information on this event would be appreciated. Please feel free to e-mail me with any help you may have on this subject.

There is a very good book on RAF Sabres "Sabre" The Canadair Sabre In RAF Service by Duncan Curtis. Sutton Publishing 2005 £25. ISBN 0-7509-4236-3. Your uncle is mentioned on pages 209,211,263. His Sabre XB700 was in collision in the circuit with Sea Hawk WM964 811 Squadron coded 167/C, 3 miles east of Yeovilton at West Carmel.17.8.55.
My father flew Sabres for a short time at Abingdon with the Long Range Ferry Unit. Hope this has been of some help.
