Mike Lithgow

Dear Folks

Who can help me with some pictures about Supermarine test pilot Mike Lithgow. It is very difficult to find any photograph about this legendary pilot. Any information about his world speed record with the Supermarine Swift above the Lybian desert would be very useful.
Can I reach any family member?

Thanks

Bart

Do a search by typing in "Mike Lithgow" and you will find copies of many reports published in Flight regarding the gentleman.

His autobiography "Mach One" published in 1954 comes up on some of the "antique" book sales sites now and then.

A site that you may find interesting is:

http://www.neam.co.uk/swift.html

All about the Supermarine Swift WK198 in which he made the record flight.

Google is your friend. Google Amazon and then in their site do a search under the Used Books catagory with Mach One and you will get many examples for sale. It has excellent pics of Mike and a chapter on the record run.
