Question Alitalia: Early 1960s

If you were travelling regularly between London and Milan in 1959~63, what aircraft would you have been on? Usually ex-LHR Friday evening and back Sunday evening. Always Alitalia, to the point where the cabin crews knew this pax as more than a regular!

Thanks.

Alitalia

G'day Chaps

The DC-9 Series 32 started to replace the Caravelle VI-N in August of 1967.

The Rome-London route with Caravelles commenced on the 23rd of May 1960.

Cheers...Chris

Alitalia Viscounts were rarely seen at Heathrow in the early '60s. Nearly all Alitalia services to LHR were by Caravelles and DC-8s.
