Goodwood Revival 2007
This aircraft:
Won the Concoures D'Elegence at Goodwood Revival 2007. Apparently called a Wico and the sole survivor of 9 built. Anybody know anything about this machine and where it is based etc?

Foster-Wickner Wicko owned by John Dible and recently restored by Ron Souch to his usual superb standards after many years of non-flying ignominy.
Registered address in Dublin... though earlier photos I saw of it (in Flyer?)were taken at Ron's strip in Hampshire.

The Wicko is the sole survivor of about half a dozen Gipsy Major-engined cabin momoplanes designed and built by Geoffrey Wickner in the late 1930s. Joe describes as performing "just like a high wing Chipmunk".
The aeroplane is the result of a stunning ground-up restoration by Joe Dible and Ron Souch. It quite rightly won the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation Award at Goodwood last weekend.
As another who who was lucky enough to be invited to display my aeroplane in the Spirit of Aviation area, I can't praise highly enough the efforts of Rob Wildeboer and his team in creating a fantastic addition to the Goodwood Revival event.
Not only did we feel it was one of the highlights of our flying year. The public's response to being allowed close access to over twenty vintage aeroplanes, ranging in size from a DC3 down to our Tipsy Trainer, was amazingly enthusiastic - and respectful of the machinery too.
I just hope we'll be invited back next year. Even if not the thought of being number three on finals behind a Spitfire and P-51, with the Mew Gull racer cutting inside my wingtip for a beat-up, that'll stick with me for ever!!
Thankyou Goodwood!

I have to agree that unrestricted access is a rare treat nowadays, and good to see that the public respected the fact. Although I dare say each and every pilot checked his/her machine very carefully before departure. I did not get the Typsy photographed as it seemed to be continually surrounded by people, but I did get the Mew Gull:
