What is this ?

Not trying to compete with "What cockpit" but I stumbled over this birdie at the 2007 Sun 'n Fun and none of the bystanders knew exactly what is was: http://thejarlog.phpwebhosting.com/pix/dsc02941.jpg

From the registration ( NX98474 ), and the FAA registration database, it is a Harvard IV ! ( obviously modified );

See: http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinqu...&cmndfind.y=16

Angel

It's a NA-50 or P-64 or NA-68 as it is also known. It is based in the AT-6 but has shorter wings and fuselage and a bigger engine.

Although it could be a replica as some T-6's have been modified to resemble NA-50's.

It was designed as an export fighter and was used by the USAAF as an advanced trainer.

More images here.

D2D, do you realise what you've started? The aircraft recognition thread on ARRSE runs to over 900 pages.

Too many experts here for it to last too long , I suppose.
