RAF Hendon PreWar

I am currently trying to write something for my Squadron Association- No31 who occupied Hendon in the late 40's, 50's.

As a small boy of perhaps 7, I recall a photograph (1937?) of the Hawker Hart variants in something in an air display there.

It was a mock bombing raid- and I recall quite vividly that it was called
'The Bombing of Port Hendon' The aircraft were over the Graham White co hangar and heading towards the Metropolitan Police College grounds

I have tried the Museum several times without success- to get that actual photgraph.

Can any of you find a record, please?

Thank you for interest and seeing that `149 had a look.

I have now come across a reference to Heyfords doing the same thing earlier!

I began to think that it was 'penile debenture'
