Vulcan XM597 over Fylingdales (EA Mills painting)

Morning campers,

I've been asked by a friend, who considers the internet to be The Devil's Work, to see if I can find out any details relating to a recent purchase he made.

It's an oil painting by aviation artist EA Mills, showing XM597 over the three Fylingdales Golfballs (plus antenna array) and is dated 1984. The layout of the scene is very similar to the photograph shown at:

I've contacted Aviation Art International and Mike Sweet remembers the painting but can't recall any details.

Can anyone here come up with a link between 597, Fylingdales and 1984? Did she fly over there on the way to her "new home" at East Fortune?

Go on, help me prove the inter-web isn't all bad...
