Yeah I thought this was weird. I read it on CNN. They want to destroy them because Iran might get their hands on the parts? There's gotta be more to the story.

Well, when they was friends if ours (pre-1979) the Yanks sold the Iranians (the Shah) F-14s, So I'm gamboling around the assumption that the Cousins do not want any ex-USN F-14 parts heading Tehran-wards...

More careful about these parts than they were with those F-15 parts that Iran is gunna eventually get that they sold off earlier this year, seeing that Iran is the only F-15 operator if I remember correctly? Or else it would be a field day for Iran, new F-15 and F-14 parts.

I love the F-14 though

nano404: you say "Iran is the only F-15 operator", please tell me who they got them from, and how long they have had them.
