Ormond Haydon-Baillie
I was looking through some old photo's i have & came across this great display pilot of his time;
Ormond Haydon-Baillie.
He flew 2 palnes that i remember seeing on the display circuit back between 1970 & 1974, i can't remember wether i saw him at Little Rissington, Cosford or Tern Hill.
His planes were a Lockheed T-33A/N Silver Star whick he had his trade mark black Knight on it & also a Hawker Sea Fury (WH589) F.B.11 with his initials on it (OHB).
I was going to ask if ayone knew what had happened to him but seached Google & found out that he was tragically Killed at a flying display 30 years ago.
Here are the photo's i have, the signed one was to me (trevor) & my younger Brother Nigel.

What was his relationship to Wesley Haydon Baillie? WHB seems to be getting a lot or press at the moment because he is trying to reclaim his former mansion in S Yorks, Wentworth Woodhouse. Sounds quite a character. believe there is a book recently published about him.

Many years ago a mate and I were wandering round Duxford (before it was commercialised, must've been about '76 or '77) and bumped into Ormond. We asked politely if we could see his workshop (we were just outside) and he let us in and chatted to us; hell of a nice guy and tragic he was killed (Mainz? in a Mustang?)

I worked on the Blenheim team in the 80s (it crashed nearly 20 years ago, three weeks after its post restoration flight; no fault of the aircraft or its rebuild but caused by a dodgy pilot).
The Blenhiem - actually a Canadian-built version known as the Bolingbroke - was an OHB legacy; he recovered the airframe from Canada in the 70s.
Unfortunately, the T33 came to grief at Duxford last year but with no loss of life or serious injury.

I stumbled across this site after a google search and was wondering if you had any others or if I was even able to get some copies of the ones you have.
