Trevor,
Thank you. That video gave me so much enjoyment, particularly in a few sequences where I could distinctly hear that unique Vulcan engine sound.
It looks like you may have been very lucky to get a display that day, the cloud looks a bit low and about to rain!
Thanks again, your effort is very much appreciated and I hope that you will be able to recover the movies and put them into a modern format - I believe that there are people who can do it for you if your equipment has died, but I have no further info. Perhaps someone else can help Trevor, please?

I concour Arials thanks for the work to get it on U Tube It will bring back a lot of pleasure especially those who were there that day. We caravanned there that weekend and it was a very wet weekend with lots of caravans bogged down but many stayed to watch it take off the next day on its way to Cranfield to give its final display (or so we then thought) Roll on next year to see her fly again

A truly awe-inspiring sight, many thanks for sharing the video!
As others have said, there must be plenty of firms around who'll have the kit to transfer your old 8mm films. 'Specialist' it ain't and it shouldn't cost you too much.
You’d have to feel a tad sorry for anyone on the opposing side to a Vulcan – the Argentine military must’ve gotten through a year’s worth of underwear when they found out that the Vulcan had been deployed.

7of9,
Absolutely ace! Well done. I was also there for that display, and I seem to recall that I bought a commemorative envelope that was flown in the a/c., signed by the crew!

That's a damn fine effort in a steam driven aircraft and looking out of a window the size of a porthole and in that weather - I displayed there that day and it was fairly dismal - I think today we'd call it pants.
