When does the VC10 say cheerio...?

Have a soft spot for the Vickers 4-holer as it brought me as a nipper to the Great White North when the family abandoned Blighty...and I suspect it played a part in forming my ambition to be a driver...!

I have searched here, but can't find anything on how long the VC10 has at Brize, before it's all over, let alone what'll replace it.

Anyone help me out here ?

Cheers

Probably rented A330 tanker transports.

Thanks BEagle.

I suppose if I wasn't so old, I could offer to fly the 330s for them!!

Last time I went past Brize on the A40 was a couple of years ago.

It was a very overcast day and through the clag came a VC10 in a sharp bank, around 1000-1500ft, just breaking through the overcast, nothing unusual in that, but the two other 10`s tucked in tight each side of it, was an amazing site!

Great machine, glad it`s got some years left.

Close formation in IMC is not permitted in the VC10.

Vic formation is not permitted for accompanied letdowns.
