Wombleton Airfield, N.Yorks, UK, anyone?

Hi,

I live near the above airfield, an ex-wartime Canadian base and would love to hear any stories/anecdotes from anyone who flew from there during its operational day's.... Halibags and Lancs were there I believe.

The blokes in the watch office (Windsports) used to have a small collection of letters and notes from some of the veterans who used to visit the drome. I'm sure they'd be happy to share it with you.
