You will recall I was having problems posting pictures. Some people could see them, but most could not.
It appears that the cause may have been that Picasa (whose web albums I was using) conflicted in some way with the PPrune picture hosting. On some occassions pictures posted fine, but within the last week or so the original problem reoccurred whereby the URL of the picture changed after posting or in preview mode, with the result that no-one could see my pictures.
So have taken Mike's advice and now use Virgin Photobucket, which seems to work fine.
If anyone out there has experience with Picasa and has experienced a similar problem (and resolved it!) I would like to hear from them.
Thanks
Ken

Ignore my last message! Just used Virgin PhotoBox to download a picture to Silhouette Challenge. The picture displayed for about 20 mins and now will not display. Checked the properties as shown on Pprune and they are totally different from those of the picture. Here is the picture, followed by what is now displayed:
And here is what is now displayed on silhouette challenge:
Of course to the viewer they may look the same!
Any ideas???

I joined this forum yesterday BOAC and followed your instructions to the letter.
Yesterday after a couple of trials, image showed up. today although I used exactly the same procedure it doesn't work yet in the last panel of Edit Options I have been using both times "Standard Editor-Extraformatting controls".
I get a correct URL address on the message box but after clicking on "Submit reply" button, it is exactly the same URL that appears on the post and not the real image.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong (I'm uploading from Mozilla Firefox)?
Thanks for your reply

Carson, could you post your link here so we can see it please? Might be able to figure out the problem.

As you can see MReyn it doesn't work even by adding //.
This is funny because I'm a member of other forums requiring attachments and once procedures are mastered everything runs smoothly.
I'm afraid I'll have to give up

Hi MReyn,
it looks like I made it this time and maybe I now have a future in the forum! Isn't this a beautiful pic of the Reggiane 2001 (the only thing I do not very much like is the inscription "Duce" at the front of the hangar)?

Hi Carson1934,
Interesting: it appears to be the first prototype of the Re.2001,
the MM 409, after the modification which consisted in removing the radiators intakes
from the wings leading edges and re-positioning it on the aft under each
wing (as in the original design) but, more importantly,
the version depicted is certainly before the removal of the glass from
aft cockpit canopy decking: I had never seen a real photo from the side of
this version.

iamage hosting
After all the trouble I gave Mreyn and Skytrain concerning image hosting you might be interested in learning that by using Imageshack or tinypic I have now no problem in uploading pics into the forum.
By using photobucket instead the recipient can see the image and I can't.

Help. I've been trying to add a photo to a post and it keeps coming up as a thumbnail. I have I think reduced it to 800 X 590. URL is http:/s665.photobucket.com/albums/vv15/oxenos_photo/th_DR.jpg[/IMG]If any ace out there can add it to my post of yesterday Ref Dave Rostron in military aircrew, or tell me how to do so I would be most grateful.
