Lightbulb Battle of Britain Memorial by Night

I visited the new Battle of Britain Memorial for the first time tonight. It took my breath away. I thought I'd share the experience for those who haven't yet visited.

Having spent a couple of hours photographing it I still felt as if I needed more time to fully appreciate it. I'll certainly be visiting again in the near future.

Wow Rob. They are superb pics. I am taking my grandson up there shortly. I'd like to see what he makes of it and if he can feel what the BoB meant to people who experienced it.

It's near the MOD. If you paste the grid reference 530250,179750 into Streetmap.co.uk and do a grid reference search it'll show you where the monument is. It's well worth a visit.

I saw it on't Tele at the inauguration and thought how good it was but your pictures just make it even better. Thank you for them. I forget who designed it. Anyone know?
