A tip for all using 'Photobucket' - copy the 'URL' from PB, not the IMG, and that way you will not get the [IMG] tag on the picture. PPrune IMG function inserts its own IMG code.

A reminder to 'downsize' pics wherever possible please, subject to 'visibility'.

Offhand, I'd say a Mk VI.

Sorry, no idea.

That picture appears on many websites including the Smithsonian described as:

An ME 262 in flight post war. Quite possibly in the USA. The same appears on the Adolf Galland website, though I suspect that he is not the pilot in the pic.

Me 262

Would it be post war with the swastika still displayed? Surely they were painted out on all 'prize' aircraft

Surely it is one of the a newly built Me262s by the Texas Airplane Factory in the USA on its test flight. The markings shown have been added to the photograph. Possibly Tango Tango which first flew August 2005.http://www.stormbirds.com/project/general/updates.htm

It looks authentic wartime to me with a pilot not wearing any helmet.

I would expect any 21st century photo of this nature to be in colour?

I'd say it was wartime; notice what looks like an airfield under construction top right.

Post war photo.

Me-262 for sure. Upon which was based the Sukhoi Su-9(K) and Su-11. The Japanese also made a scaled down version, the Nakajima J8N1.

Arado Ar234A, no wheels (added on 234B) and centreline landing skid. Took off from a trolley. They used those RATO packs on that Me 323 transport as well.
