Cranbook 1940? - ME 109 shot down by Spitfire

I brought this subject up a few years back on Pprune but lost the replies. In 1940 while living in Cranbrook as a 8 year old schoolboy I saw a Bf 109 gliding on fire around 1500 ft with a Spitfire behind it firing at the enemy aircraft. The 109 took no evasive action and one can only speculate the pilot was dead. The 109 crashed a mile away from Cranbrook. At the time of my first post on the subject, a reader kindly pointed to a link that gave details of the engagement. Due to changeover to a new computer all info was lost. I would appreciate information -many thanks in advance.
