CWH Lysander pics (MOTF goes Canuck)

On the Canadian (eh!) leg of my hols I popped into the CWH museum primarily to see the progress on the Lysander. Well it is magnificent!!

The last time I saw it, 7 years ago, all I could see was a metal framework. The standard of work looks superb and the paintwork make it look like an angry hornet.

Hopefully we will soon have two airworthy Lysanders in the world.

A couple of the other exhibits. The Lancaster, in the hangar instead of flying across the pond. Oh what might have been ;(

The Firefly doing engine runs to check the prop.

All in all the CWH is a superb facility in a modern style building. And not one aircraft hung from the ceiling!

Nick, I dunno if you have changed your 'tool' but they are beautiful. Really clear and altogether brilliant. Very well done. Wow! That Lizzie is something else isn't it?

MOTF,

I am planning to visit CWH in August, does anyone know if progress on the Halifax can be viewed yet (I believe it to be near CWH)

Nice pics BTW,

The Halifax is at Trenton which is about 4 hours (from memory) drive from Hamilton, past Toronto.

The most recent set of photos I saw from there seemed to indicate the building in which it was housed was not open yet.

That situation may well change.

Have a look at their website here it should tell you more.

CWH Website is here you may want to contact them in advance and find out what is happening on the day of your planned visit. I had to go twice as they had an Air Cadets parade which, although it provided a few good photo ops, stopped me getting at a few of the aircraft. Not a major problem as I was staying 15 mins drive away. Also it would be a shame to go if the Lanc wasnt there.

Thanks for the info MOTF, I would be very dissapointed if I didn't see the Halifax, it looks like they are doing very good work on it.
