Much as Lowe and Walpole did a good job, operating aircraft profitably is supposed to be what an airline is about. While many may mourn the passing of a beautiful and technically splendid machine, there are some who have more tears for an aviation industry which went south at least in part because it had no significant investment in potentially world-beating products because the money wasn’t there. It was in Concorde.
